This is a T34 1500S Karmann Ghia. Often referred to as "Razor Edge" Ghias, this model was the most expensive and luxurious VW of it's time. Produced from 1961 to 1969, they were never imported to the US market, so most of the cars here now were brought home by returning servicemen, as this one was. Total production was 45,505 units so it was never a volume seller, and it's believed that perhaps there are perhaps 2000 remaining worldwide although there are far fewer on the road.
